WHEN SCHEDULING A SESSION:
I love photographing children and families. However, a great portion of my business is devoted to birth photography and wedding photography. Please be aware that due to the unpredictable nature of births, your session may need to be rescheduled due to the arrival of a new life. Should this happen, you will be compensated with free prints. In order to serve my brides and grooms, I will have limited Saturdays available for other sessions. If at all possible, your session needs to be scheduled during the week. Otherwise, it may take longer to get on the calendar for a Saturday session and additional fees will apply.
Please be sure to book your session at least 1 month in advance. 2-3 months in advance is even better as I usually stayed booked up 1-2 months ahead. I am available for week day sessions (depending on the time changes) and minimal weekends. Sessions will never be booked on Wednesday or Sunday. When booking your session please consider the proofing and delivery time stated below.
Please note that maternity sessions need to be scheduled for when you will be 28-34 weeks of pregnancy. Birth photography sessions should be scheduled as soon as the pregnancy test reads POSITIVE! I have VERY limited spots for birth sessions, and this is (next to your wedding) one of the most important and beautiful events of your life. Reserve your spot asap!
HOW TO SCHEDULE A SESSION:
You can contact me to schedule a session a number of ways: message me on facebook, use the “contact me” option on my website www.mandienewsom.com, call me/leave a voicemail 601-447-2573. Please do not text me to schedule a session or to inquire about a session. I’m not a “texter.” It’s always best to either leave me a voicemail and let me return your call or to email me via my “contact me” link on the website or directly mandie@mandienewsom.com Also, please remember that if you contact me on a weekend, your message/voicemail will be returned the next business day. If you contact me after 5pm, I will return your call the following business day between 9am and 5pm.
CANCELLATIONS:
Let’s try to avoid cancellations if at all possible. I do understand that people get sick (even myself) and other things out of our control happens (like poor weather). If something comes up and you can’t make your session we move your session fee to another date at no additional charge and as soon as my schedule allows. There is no guarantee as to how soon we will be able to reschedule, but we will reschedule. Session fees are non-refundable. Session fees are not lost if you reschedule within three months. Please trust my judgment as a photographer as to whether the weather is suitable for shooting. Excessive heat, cold, rain, etc. does not make for conducive session environments, especially when photographing young children.
PAYMENT POLICY:
Your session is not considered booked until half of your session package total is received. Please have your session fee paid within 7 days of booking your session. I will tentatively pencil you in on your requested date until that time. If your session fee has not been received, your appointment will be made available to someone else. The other half of your session package is due on the date of your session. For print orders and other products, the total is due when the order is placed. Using Gift Certificates:
Gift certificates won/obtained during contests and promotions may be used toward a regular session and cannot be combined with other certificates or discounts. They may not be used toward mini sessions. Gift certificates purchased by you or for you may be used for any type of session (including mini). If you have won your certificate through a contest or promotion, you must have your certificate in your possession and turn it in on the day of your session to get credit. No certificate/no credit. Gift certificates are NOT redeemable for cash. Please make every effort to use your certificate within 3-6 months and be conscious that I stay booked 1-2 months in advance, especially during wedding season.
DELIVERY & PROOFING TIME:
It takes 2-4 weeks to get your session proofed and uploaded to your online gallery. Your gallery will be available for 1 week. There is a $25 fee to re upload your gallery for 1 additional week.. For print orders you should get your order in 2-3 weeks and about 4-6 weeks for canvas. Please place all wedding orders within three months to guarantee pricing product at contract time. Allow 6-8 weeks for wedding proofing.
I LOST/DAMAGED MY CD:
Replacement CDs with print releases are $25 for regular sessions and $50 for weddings and births. Please keep in mind that your images are kept no longer than 1 year for regular sessions and 2 years for weddings. I will post via website and social networking sites when a purge is about to take place.
LOCATION:
I will work with you to help you decide what is the best location for your session. Currently, I am a 100% on location photographer. If you are looking for a studio experience, I can refer you to some great studio photographers. There is no additional travel charge for sessions booked within Marion County/30 miles of the photographer’s home. .40 cent per mile charge if location is beyond 20 miles one way of photographer’s home.
CAMERAS:
No cameras or recording devices of any kind are allowed at sessions.
WHAT TO WEAR:
I love color! When planning outfits for your session, consider bright colors and bold patterns. Also consider unique accessories like hats, scarves, chunky jewelry, funky shoes, and pretty hair accessories. I suggest for families that you choose a color and stay within that color family. You can layer and accessorize with different colors and patterns. The end product will result in everyone coordinating without “matching.” Be unique and stay true to your style.
